Nail Surgery
Nail Surgery involves the removal of a small portion of nail – did you know that 20% of all Podiatry appointments are made because of an ingrown toenail? Nail surgery offers a permanent solution to ingrown nails which pose a great risk of pain and infection. Your Podiatrist will need to access as to whether this treatment is suitable for you following your initial assessment.
Verrucae Treatment
Falknor’s needling technique is an innovative and effective procedure for eradicating verrucae. During this procedure the affected area will be numbed using local anaesthetic. The verrucae lesion is then carefully needled to implant the virus into the dermal layer of the skin so that the body’s immune system can identify and destroy the virus. Your Podiatrist will need to access as to whether this treatment is suitable for you following your initial assessment.
Verrutop
Verrutop is a new verrucae treatment which is a topical solution based on a unique combination of three organic acids. 90% of patients were cured after a maximum of 6 treatment sessions. Verrutop in general is a painless treatment.
It is worth noting that no single treatment for verruca and warts is 100% effective, and there is no guarantee that the verruca will not return.
Lacuna Method
The Lacuna Method is a method for treating fungal nail infections. It involves the drilling of micro holes into the nail plate so anti-fungal preparations applied can penetrate the nail bed- where the active portion of the infection lies.
How does it work?
The most active portion of the infection actually lies on the nail bed, not the nail plate. Through drilling micro-holes in the nail plate, this acts as a tunnel for antifungal solutions to seep through to the nail bed. The fungal infection is prevented from spreading further and allows a new healthy nail to grow out.
As with any fungal nail treatment there is no quick fix, the infection only clears as fast as the nail grows, and this can take up to 18 months.
Mole Checking Service
As a recognised Map My Mole provider, we can access UK consultant dermatologists for an opinion on your mole or skin lesion within 48 hours.
If a consultant thinks the mole or lesion is of concern, they will ask you to see a dermatologist.
