Initial Podiatry Appointment – Up to 45 minutes

This is the appointment that welcomes you to Young’s Foot Clinic!

You will have a full assessment and treatment of your foot or ankle complaint, along with a bespoke treatment plan to best take care of your feet going forward. Along with this we check the neuro-vascular status of your feet and ankles.

Diabetic Foot Assessment – Up to 45 minutes

Foot health is important for people with diabetes as they are at higher risk of foot ulcers and infections. Our diabetic foot assessment encompasses all treatment elements from our

Follow-Up appointment along with a dermatological, musculoskeletal and neuro-vascular assessment of your feet and ankles. Your diabetes foot health report will be offered to you and your GP along with advice and information on caring for your feet.

Follow-Up Podiatry – Up to 30 minutes

Our most popular appointment for existing patients that provides a full assessment and treatment of your foot problems, including extensive callus or corns, complex nail conditions or verrucae’s.

The appointment is finished with advice for ongoing care of your foot and application of emollient. If you have not attended the clinic in over 12 months you will need to book in for an Initial Podiatry Assessment.

Dermatophyte Test Strip – 15 minutes or in addition to your Follow -Up/Premium Podiatry

The Dermatophyte Test Strip is a vital breakthrough in dermatophyte (fungal) diagnosis. If you have a suspicious looking nail, this test can be undertaken in 5 minutes and returns accurate and clear results. This allows us to recommend the best treatment depending on your results.

Express Podiatry – 15 minutes

This appointment is for existing patients only, if you are looking to have healthy nails trimmed or a single corn/callus removed then this is the appointment for you!

If you haven’t attended the clinic in over 12 months you will need to book in for an Initial Podiatry Appointment.

Premium Podiatry – Up to 45 minutes

Our Premium Podiatry appointment includes all elements from our Follow-Up Podiatry appointment but with additional time for a touch of pampering.

Nail Surgery

Nail Surgery involves the removal of a small portion of nail – did you know that 20% of all Podiatry appointments are made because of an ingrown toenail? Nail surgery offers a permanent solution to ingrown nails which pose a great risk of pain and infection. Your Podiatrist will need to access as to whether this treatment is suitable for you following your initial assessment.

Verrucae Treatment

Falknor’s needling technique is an innovative and effective procedure for eradicating verrucae. During this procedure the affected area will be numbed using local anaesthetic. The verrucae lesion is then carefully needled to implant the virus into the dermal layer of the skin so that the body’s immune system can identify and destroy the virus. Your Podiatrist will need to access as to whether this treatment is suitable for you following your initial assessment.

Verrutop

Verrutop is a new verrucae treatment which is a topical solution based on a unique combination of three organic acids. 90% of patients were cured after a maximum of 6 treatment sessions. Verrutop in general is a painless treatment.

It is worth noting that no single treatment for verruca and warts is 100% effective, and there is no guarantee that the verruca will not return.

big toe with fungal nail infection

Lacuna Method

The Lacuna Method is a method for treating fungal nail infections. It involves the drilling of micro holes into the nail plate so anti-fungal preparations applied can penetrate the nail bed- where the active portion of the infection lies.

How does it work?

The most active portion of the infection actually lies on the nail bed, not the nail plate. Through drilling micro-holes in the nail plate, this acts as a tunnel for antifungal solutions to seep through to the nail bed. The fungal infection is prevented from spreading further and allows a new healthy nail to grow out.

As with any fungal nail treatment there is no quick fix, the infection only clears as fast as the nail grows, and this can take up to 18 months.

Zoe and the receptionist were both very welcoming which made my first time visit a very pleasant experience. The clinic is convenient for parking, clean and tidy and I felt that Zoe has done a great job not only putting me at ease but looking after my feet as well. Many thanks.

I had one session with Natalie as I was suffering extreme pain with my left foot which was preventing me walking and affecting a energetic lifestyle. She was very helpful and set up a referral to my Doctors for an x-ray to determine the cause of the problem. This eventually lead to various NHS departments and finally to a foot consultant who advised wearing rocker sole shoes. I can now walk again without pain, thanks to my visit to Natalie at Young:s foot clinic.

I was impressed from the outset when I messaged on a Saturday at 6pm for an appointment and had a reply almost immediately. So pleased I took my son to Young’s Foot Clinic with ingrown toe nails that another local podiatrist had failed to fix. Zoe was amazing. Very welcoming, very knowledgeable and very professional. I felt that the care given to my son was thorough and personal. A couple of days after his appointment my son said, “my toes haven’t felt this good in so long”! I would highly recommend this lovely practice.

Visited Zoe as my son had a problem with an ingrown toe nail. From the very beginning nothing was too much trouble. My son was very anxious but Zoe explained everything that was going to happen and put him completely at ease. I would highly recommend with no hesitation.

Brilliant, Zoe spotted a small diabetic ulcer I was unaware of and promptly referred me to the hospital foot clinic for treatment. I cannot thank her enough and will continue to let her look after my health. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Visited Youngs foot clinic for the first time today. Had a problem with a ingrown toe nail for quite a while which was causing extreme pain to even walk. Zoe went out of her way to help right from the first communication. I was a little apprehensive but Zoe was fantastic and removed the pieces of nail causing the problem with very little discomfort. The relief was instant and I was left completely pain free. Fantastic service, very knowledgeable and would highly recommend. Thank you
